Bear On The Square Mountain Festival
April 21-22, 2018

Dahlonega's 21h annual celebration of Southern Appalachian music, art and folklore will be held, rain or shine, on Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23 in 2017. Set in a picturesque town in the North Georgia foothills, the festival is a well-attended event which takes place in and around the town's Historic Public Square.



On Friday, April 21, the participants in the weekend-long jamming around the square will begin arriving, and that evening's featured event will be the Live and Silent Country Auction with dinner and music. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be free admission, MainStage performances by local, regional, and national musicians. The emphasis will be on bluegrass and old-time music from this region.

Other Saturday and Sunday events include a juried Artists Marketplace featuring traditional mountain crafts, storytelling, a Gospel Jam, free music workshops and demonstrations, an old-time mountain dance, John C. Campbell dance team performances, and an Acoustic Open Mic event and food.
