Each spring, food lovers across the nation anticipate the harvest of Georgias Official State Vegetable, the famous Vidalia Onion. The Vidalia community celebrates the occasion with a four-day festival thats packed with fun-filled activities that offer something for everyone. The fun starts before the festival officially begins with a youth boys baseball tournament, the Miss Vidalia Onion Pageant and Tales from the Altamaha, a Georgia folk-life play.

The festival weekend officially kicks off with a childrens parade and opening ceremonies that include a Movie Under the Stars. Other festival activities include a street dance, arts & crafts show, sidewalk sales, and famous onion-eating contest.

The excitement builds at the Vidalia Regional Airport with a fantastic airshow Saturday and Sunday featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, Jim Tobul in his F4U-4 Corsair, Lucas Oil Air Show, Jimmy Burkes Yak 52, Keith Davis Pitts and more. Theres also a Kiwanis Onion Run, carnival, and the Vidalia Onion Festival concert featuring Lonestar.
