| Description: | (9:30 AM - 7:00 PM) Marketplace, an annual festive holiday shopping event presented by Premier Sponsors The Medical Center Auxiliary, Inc. and Gainesville Bank and Trust is celebrating its 16th anniversary this year. The event will be held Friday, Nov. 2, and Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Gainesville Civic Center. Proceeds from Marketplace 2007 will benefit Northeast Georgia Health SystemâEUR(TM)s WomenâEUR(TM)s Imaging Outpatient Services. Marketplace is open 9:30 a.m.- 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, and 9:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. Tickets are $5, and children 12 and under are admitted free. Complimentary valet parking, and a parking shuttle will be available. Marketplace will feature more than 70 merchants from around the Southeast selling unique gift items such as art and pottery; jewelry and other ladiesâEUR(TM) accessories; home accessories; womenâEUR(TM)s, menâEUR(TM)s and childrenâEUR(TM)s clothing; gourmet food; antiques; Christmas items and much more. Gifts will be priced in all ranges, from small inexpensive gifts to unique, one-of-a-kind items. Marketplace is the Medical Center AuxiliaryâEUR(TM)s annual friend and fundraiser and each year benefits healthcare services of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. This yearâEUR(TM)s chairpersons are Caroline Cobb, Elizabeth Embry and Scarlet Pendarvis, who lead a committee of 30 volunteers. Nearly 200 volunteers will serve during the Marketplace weekend. Two artists will also be at Marketplace this year. Julie Deane will be creating charcoal portraits of children or pets for $175 on Friday and Saturday by appointment only. Also, K. Housel Bogue, nationally famous silhouette artist, will be at Marketplace on Saturday. Two copies of a silhouette will be available for $30.
