| Description: | The City of Kennesaw will host live entertainment; and showcase plenty of barbequed meat and delicious treats during its annual Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival on Friday & Saturday, August 8-9. The festival kicks off Friday at 7:00 p.m. with a backyard BBQ & peach dessert contest and a FREE blues concert by Bluestorm Recording artist Roger "Hurricane" Wilson at the Ben Robertson Community Center. The concert is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m., and is the fourth of five featured performances in the City of Kennesaws Summer Concert Series. On Saturday, the event continues with a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned BBQ competition. Judging begins at 11:00 a.m., and cash prizes will be offered in four categories: chicken, pork ribs, pork and beef brisket. Select competitors will be selling their smoke-cooked delicacies, so come hungry! The festival will also feature craft vendors, live musical performers, and a kids zone with make-and-go crafts and giant inflatables on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. | |
